Structural Work & Building Regulations
Structural work — removing a wall, forming a larger opening, replacing a damaged beam — has to be done with input from a structural engineer. We work alongside engineers regularly and can arrange the calculations and drawings if you do not already have someone in mind.
Building control approval is required for most structural work and many other alterations. Building regulations exist for sound reasons — structural stability, fire safety, insulation, ventilation and drainage — and we plan the work so it passes inspection at every stage rather than treating sign-off as an afterthought.

A garage being converted to a habitable room involves bricklaying, plastering, electrics, plumbing, insulation, flooring and decorating — often with a structural element on top.
