Flooring Supply and Installation in North West London, North London, East London and Essex
Flooring is one of the most-noticed parts of a renovation and one of the most punishing to get wrong. A poorly prepared subfloor will telegraph every dip and ridge through the finished surface, and joints that have not been planned will sit in the worst possible places. We supply and fit flooring of every common type for homes and commercial properties across North West London, North London, East London and Essex, with the preparation work given as much weight as the laying itself.
Types of Flooring We Install
Engineered Wood
Where a real timber surface is wanted with better stability than solid wood, particularly over underfloor heating.
Solid Timber
Where the property and the room suit a traditional hardwood floor.
Laminate
In modern textures and finishes that wear well in family homes.
Luxury Vinyl Tile (LVT)
Increasingly the choice for kitchens, bathrooms and hallways where water resistance matters.
Ceramic & Porcelain Tiling
For kitchens, bathrooms and utility rooms.
Carpet
In domestic and contract grades, fitted over the correct underlay.
Subfloor Preparation
Most flooring problems originate in the substrate beneath the visible surface. Old adhesive, lifted boards, uneven concrete, gaps between joists — none of these are going to fix themselves once the new floor is laid over them. We assess the subfloor before quoting, and the quotation sets out any preparation that the floor requires.
Where a concrete subfloor needs levelling, we use self-levelling compound to bring it to a flat plane. Where timber boards are loose or squeaking, they are screwed down or replaced. Where damp is suspected, the floor is tested before any new material is laid.
Flooring Supplied and Fitted Across London and Essex
We fit flooring as a standalone job or as part of a larger refurbishment, across North West London, North London, East London and Essex. Send us photographs of the rooms and an idea of the floor type, and we will put together an accurate written quotation.
Underlay, Skirting and Finishing Details
The underlay used has a measurable effect on how a floor feels underfoot, how warm it is and how long it lasts. We specify underlay to suit the floor type, the room and the subfloor beneath. Skirting boards are removed and refitted where this gives a cleaner result than scribing the new floor against the old skirting. Thresholds between rooms are chosen to match the floors meeting at that point.
Why Choose Ridgewell
Flooring sits in plain view for the life of the floor. A family run firm with decades of experience treats the preparation, the laying and the finishing details with equal care, because the result is going to be looked at every day. We fit flooring as a standalone job or as part of a larger refurbishment.
